Description
Another find from my record library. From my days at A&M Records I remember when the idea of a special 10" vinyl 2-record set version of the Police album Reggatta de Blanc was proposed. Months after that it was released and, as it turned out, it was a good idea.
The Selection number is SP-3713. "Regatta de Blanc was the second studio album by the The Police, released in October, 1979 by A&M Records. It was a success, driven by tracks like "Message in a Bottle" and "Walking on the Moon". In early 1980, the album was re-issued on two 10" discs, one album side per disc, as well as a collector's edition with a poster of the band.
This 10" set is unopened, in its original loose shrink-wrap. The exterior wrap displays the two original stickers. TOP: "The 10-inch album includes a full-color poster of the Police (printed in USA, A&M SP-3713". BOTTOM: "It's the whole album on a 2 Record Set (Printed in USA, A&M SP-3713)".
The upper-left corner of the package (as viewed from the front) shows a little weakness from years of being moved around the country. There seems to be a corresponding stress mark visible from the back. Beyond that, when viewed from the outside, the package is in excellent condition.
