Description
This is the original 1994 vinyl LP release of Portishead's seminal album 'Dummy' (Go! Beat, 828 522-1), which combined The Orb's ambient soundscapes with Joy Division's introspectiveness, through a 60s sci-fi moog/theremin spaghetti western filter, made into a coherent and unforgettable whole by Beth Gibbons' spectral vocals. This is one of my favourite albums, when it came out it was one of those albums that sounded like nothing heard before - but in a good way! - and is now acknowledged as the original 'trip-hop- album.
