This is a dream come true.
Matrix no. SLP 4006 There is a x in the dead wax
This is the test pressing for the original stereo release of this stellar LP. This test pressing is on heavy vinyl and is not for the stereo record club release. The line up for songs is the same. The mix on this test Pressing is incredibly hot. The mix is hotter than a 1963 original Philles yellow label Pressing. The disc is heavier too. My theory is that this test Pressing is for the blue label stereo Pressing. I have yet to hear or purchase a stereo blue label version of thIs incredible record album.¹
This Premier Label Test Pressing is heavier and has a different label than the Monarch test Pressing label previously sold. I believe that the Premier test pressings are for the early rare BLUE label Philles pressings and the Monarch test pressings are for the YELLOW Philles label Ronettes. The latter is an educated guess.
This is an actual test pressing of one of the most iconic record albums ever released. The stereo sound is even more defined than the stereo UK import Ronettes album.
On September 4, 2012, a sealed MONO copy sold for over 2,000.00 USD. I would personally much rather have a STEREO TEST PRESSING. NEAR MINT.
