Description
THE RONNIE SCOTT SEXTET – PRESENTING THE RONNIE SCOTT SEXTET – Philips BBL 7153.
An original British pressing of this 1957 LP that features one of the legends of British jazz. The cover also has an export number which is perhaps why it ended up in Australia.
Scott’s band consists of: Derek Humble (alto sax) / Jimmy Deuchar (trumpet) / Stan Tracey (piano) / Kenny Napper (bass) / Phil Seamen (drums).
TRACKS: Pittsburg Opener / Bass House / It Don’t Mean A Thing / All This And Heaven Too / This Can’t Be Love / Phil’s Tune / You Leave Me Breathless / Give Me The Simple Life / Polka Dots And Moonbeams / IPA Special / Squeeze Me / Avalon.
The record is in VG+ condition. About half a dozen small hairlines that don’t affect playing or listening enjoyment. Clean vinyl that sounds great (better than grading). / The cover is in VG(+) condition. There is a small split in the bottom seam (approx 3cm) and a spot of surface wear (approx 4cm) on the spine. Some lightish ringwear and general aging. Apart from the split and the wear on the spine it looks pretty good. Better than a lot of covers I’ve been sent over the years that were graded higher. Overall a very sound copy of a record that is over 50 years old.
