This is a very historic recording, A speech by President Coolidge welcoming back Colonel Lindbergh after his return to the US after his flight across the Atlantic. The flight was May 20 1927, then after a few days he returned to the US on a Navy ship, and on June 11 1927, he sailed up the Potomac with a fleet of warships and a military aircraft escort, to the Washington Navy Yard, where he met with President Coolidge and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. At that time The President made a brief speech, which was made into a 12" 78 rpm record, on Victor, side 1 is 35835A and B, President Coolidge Welcomes Colonel Lindbergh AT Washington DC June 11 1927, side B being a continuation of the speech. There are a couple of vague tiny marks, but the record could be called near new. It plays perfectly. The record sounds very good, Coolidge speaks in a loud clear voice. A time capsule of a momentous event. Ships at $6.50 in an oversize box for protection.. No additional ship cost if someone buys this and the record of Lindbergh's speech being sold at the same time as this one.
