Description

To tell the story of Pretty. Odd., I think it's best to compare it to Weezer's freshman and sophomore efforts with their self titled Blue Album and their sophomore follow up, Pinkerton.  Both Weezer and Panic had huge success with their respective first albums, but met with mixed reviews on each of their second ones.  Rolling Stone's reader poll even went so far as to call Pinkerton "the third worst album of 1996".  It wasn't until years later and after garnering a pretty deep cult following that Pinkerton was ultimately redeemed, some even calling it greater than the Blue Album.
Pretty. Odd. has faced very similar initial criticism.  Some calling it too much of a departure, too bold, or standing too much in the shadow of A Fever You Can't Sweat Out.  But I think the beauty of this album is that it's not trying to mimic an original effort, but rather to branch out and explore new sounds, potentially even gain a new fan base.  After listening to both albums numerous times, I've turned away from Fever's processed sound in favor of Pretty's more natural, exploratory sound.  In another few years, I feel the same broad acceptance for Pretty. Odd. will come to fruition, and the album will be heralded as one of the best in the alternative music scene.  Its intrinsic value has already been boosted for a few reasons, as this was a rare pressing that will only become more desirable over time.  Which brings me to the condition of this record.
The cover I rank as VG+, there is some slight spine damage from mishandling before I bought it in 2009.  The record jacket and record itself are NM, the record having not been played much over the years to preserve its sound, and you'll be able to hear that once you listen to it for yourself.  The condition is absolutely superb.  I hope it goes to a good home with someone who will enjoy it like I have.
I am willing to ship anywhere, and take great care to ensure my records are properly packed, using bubble wrap and LP mailers.  Take note of my consistent positive feedback.  Thanks for looking!
