Description

Opportunity for a bargain, this is an *unusual* pressing of Prince's 3121.  Up until his untimely death, this was the only way to get this album on LP and it is the only black vinyl version of it.  I bought it from HMV in Oxford Street in 2006.  HMV went through a weird phase of selling promos and *unusual* semi-official vinyl releases...This was one of two copies they had in the shop, both were in the same condition and I grabbed one being a massive fan.  I never saw it again.
Anyway, this album is in exactly the same condition as from new.  The cover was always in the condition it is in.  So are the discs.
The record plays through from start to finish and sounds superb (the bass bangs on them) but they have all sorts of manufacturing blemishes and scuff marks. I am selling it as is but I have played it through for this listing and it is a lovely play copy of this highly unusual pressing.
Cover: Fair condition. Generic flimsy black sleeve with a sticker of the cover on it.  The sticker was applied clumsily and has a crease in it and is bubbling with age.  In a plastic sleeve, scarcely noticeable especially but it is fading with age too.  Edgewear to the cover - these were not sealed in the first place.
Discs: Both sound excellent, but they do have manufacturing scuff marks and dimples/raises in the playing surfaces.  Because the music is so loud and bassy these are largely inaudible.  Specifics below:
Disc 1: Excellent aesthetically and very slight paper scuffs. No pops or skips.
Disc 2 As above, but side 4 has a lot of dimples and manufacturing marks on it.  I have played the record carefully and apart from some very light thuds they are inaudible.
This album is not mint.  Not even vaguely.  It plays through from start to finish and genuinely sounds excellent, but it doesn't look excellent by any stretch.  I do not believe there are any copies of it that are in any condition to this one.  Ideal for a Prince collector. Please do some research on this release so you know what you're bidding on. UK bidders only unless using the GSP.  Thanks for looking.  Hope it goes to a good home.
