Description
For Auction: Prince – “Dirty Mind” Promotional Copy Marked with Gold Stamp Promo, and with Hype sticker and Programmer Warning sticker. This is the original first issue #BSK 3478, 1980 Warner Bros. Records Inc. Also included is his "Uptown" 12 inch Promo Single PRO-A-904 with Edit and Long Versions of the one song.
Condition: "Dirty Mind" Vinyl is in NM condition, never played by me and with no evidence of ever being played; the cover is EX with very minor corner wear, but has some marker writing on the back cover. It is very clean and sharp with the only exception being the writing. Inner sleeve has a 2 inch long seam split along bottom. Please review photos for condition verification.
"Uptown" Vinyl is in G+ condition with visible scratches and slight convex warping. There is price sticker residue on the Side A label. There is no cover for this 12 inch single record. Please review photos for condition verification.
As a collector I’ve always subscribed to the fact that Promotional Only records are more rare and valuable than the standard releases. The simple truth is they produced the promotional items in far fewer numbers and in some cases the promo items are one of a kind, increasing their value even more.
The item(s) in this auction were bought and collected by me when they were originally released. I am a long time fan of Prince and his protégés. Every item I am selling is original and NOT a re-issue, re-release, copy or bootleg. I am happy to offer my collection at reasonable auction start prices. Almost every record I'm selling has never been played by me, but in the case of promotional items they may have been played by radio stations or by the person who owned them before me. Shipping: All vinyl records are carefully removed from their covers, placed in paper sleeves and packaged for shipping outside their covers with cardboard between and packed in special shipping boxes designed specifically for shipping records.
Multiple forms of payment are available. Shipping within the USA will utilize USPS Media Mail unless otherwise instructed from the buyer.
