Description
Folk Lyric LFS A-5 (Louisiana Folklore Society), “Prison Worksongs” recorded at Angola Prison; from about 1960. The vinyl is NM and looks almost unplayed in its original rice-paper sleeve. The jacket is also about like new with no wear to speak of: strong seams, square corners, and no writing or stamps. The back cover has no liner notes. Numbers are “Take This Hammer”, “Berta”, “Stewball”, “Five Long Years”, “Roberta Let Your Bangs Grow Long”, “I Had Five Long Years”, “Early in the Morning”, "All Teamed Up in Angola”, “I Got a Hurtin’ in My Right Side”, “Let Your Hammer Ring”, “Cleanin’ This Highway”, “John Henry”, “Something Within Me”, and “Jesus Cares”.
Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $8.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $20.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, and Australia; elsewhere inquire. Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 per LP domestic, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, I strongly recommend registered mail for $12.00 extra. Many old records are now practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides. It is designed thick enough not to be caught in a postal conveyor belt and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window with no damage to LP or jacket. More than two LPs may be mailed together in a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped. All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge.
