Description

Private Psych Rock LP OASIS S/T Cranbus Bay Area RARE
Label: Cranbus, original pressing (album was pressed in Canada but recorded in San Francisco)
Record Condition: NM- (couple very light sleeve marks not affecting play)
Cover Condition: NM- (two creases on the cover - this probably occured during the factory assembly of the paste-on cover. The more noticeable crease can be seen on the sleeve of the band member all the way to the left. The second crease is less obvious and about a half inch to the right of the first one. Otherwise the sleeve is in very nice crisp condition.
Note: Description excerpted from Acid Archives book: "...it's a highly enjoyable extension of the melodic hippie male-female westcoast rock sound popularized by the early Airplane, Mamas & The Papas, et al. Songwriting is fine with hooks scattered about, the instrumentation is rich with acoustic guitar tapestries, piano and keyboard, and great lyrical guitar leads. It's a mainstream sound throughout that impresses both on the first play and stands up for repeats, as the obvious care that went into it keeps bringing new details to the surface. On the downside, the soaring female vocalist oversings here and there, and the upbeat mood may seem one-note and superficial at times. Nevertheless, I would file this next to Homestead & Wolfe as one of the very best local local hippie folkrock LPs from the era, basically repackaging a 1967 mood in 1973 bell-bottoms and flowery tunics.
