Description
We are a family of three generations of collectors my partner is the reason we are all pretty much Vinyl -holics when he started collecting buying a record meant that it was Vinyl the younger generations at first mocked him as out of date and now scour the record shops for Vinyls they want but they did bring us RSD which is a family adventure we have three Indie stores within a mile and a half so usually we have our lists and we separate and each take a store this year twice,
On occasion if we cannot get each other on the phone to see if we have already secured a copy of the more Limited Edition Albums we end up with more than one That's what Happened with Procol Harum Grand Hotel
This Copy of the Album the LP and Lyric book have never been out of the album cover or sleeves at the store we had to queue up at the counter and Tell the guys behind it what you wanted and they had one copy of this Album but the shrink was open one end so a I had choice of take it or not if I left it we may never get a copy so I took it .
There is no damage to the album cover the contents have never been out of the cover so mint and we always put our vinyls into a resealable vinyl covers
Below is a run down on this version of the Album
A strictly limited edition newly re-mastered 180 gram white vinyl LP edition of the acclaimed Procol Harum album Grand Hotel. Released in March 1973 the album was the first to feature a line-up of Gary Brooker (piano, vocals), Alan Cartwright (bass), Chris Copping (organ), Mick Grabham (Guitars) and B.J. Wilson (drums) and was remarkable for its musical diversity and was hailed as “A masterpiece of musical perfection and lyricism” by the NME weekly music paper.
From the sumptuously orchestrated title track, to compositions such as For Liquorice John, Fires (Which Burnt Brightly), Bringing Home the Bacon, Toujours L’Amour and Robert’s Box, Grand Hotel defied classification but remains one of Procol Harum’s best loved and most admired works.
This Esoteric Recordings edition has been newly re-mastered from the original album master tapes and was cut at Abbey Road studios. The limited-edition LP release fully restores the stunning original gatefold sleeve and the deluxe lyric book which came with initial copies of the album..
