Description
Full-length LP from Steve Tibbetts (credited as Steve Tibbtz) titled "YR" self-released by Frammis (1522-25) in 1980. Original private first pressing with white sky on front album cover artwork. Amazing and endlessly creative album from Tibbetts who self-produced, recorded and released this excellent effort. Wide dynamic range of moods from melodic acoustic 12-string finger-picking lines that shift into wild Hendrix-style fuzz-guitar workouts. Most of the rhythmic backdrop is performed by Marc Anderson playing various hand percussions and there are a few really nice what sound like Mellotron swells on Side Two. Can't praise this album enough as it should greatly appeal to fans of progressive music. And to think that it was released at a time when progressive music had disappeared into the mist. This very first pressing is the only version that has the fiddle on the track "One Day". All subsequent versions have the fiddle removed from the mix.

Labels are in NEAR MINT condition. Vinyl record is in EXCELLENT condition with nice luster and has just one very faint sleeve mark on Side One. Plays with some light, sporadic surface tics...sounds great! Cover is in EXCELLENT condition with light discoloration (tanning) at very top, a stain at upper left corner of backside and very slight surface wear. Signed photo print is missing.
