THE UP - Free John Now b/w ALLEN GINSBERG & PETER ORLOVSKY - Poem For John Sinclair (Rainbow 22191 US 1971) VG+ to NM- John Sinclair Freedom Rally December 10, 1971
A true piece of punk rock history here!!! - The UP's song is a blistering proto-punk anthem urging John Sinclair's freedom. The Up were also intricate for the White Panther Party and as John Sinclair notes: "It's common to name the MC5 and the Stooges among the forefathers of what they call punk rock, but it was their associates in a third band, The Up, who could more accurately be identified as the real precursors of punk''.
On the other side is a poem read by legendary Beat poet Allen Ginsberg!

VINYL GRADING SCALE
STILL SEALED (SS)
Mint (M) Perfect in every way. Never been played, possibly even still sealed. We usually won't grade this unless we really mean it.Near Mint (NM or M-) A nearly perfect record. The record should show no obvious signs of wear.
Very Good Plus (VG+) This will show some signs that it was played and handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. The vinyl surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't greatly affect one's listening experiences. Very light warps that do not affect the sound or tracking may be present. The label may have some light ring wear or discoloration.
Very Good (VG) Many of the defects found in a VG+ record will be more pronounced for this grade. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in quiet passages or during a song's intro and fade, they will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as with light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that may affect the sound. The label may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached.
Good (G), Good Plus (G+) Good does not mean Bad! A record in Good or Good Plus condition can be put onto a turntable and should play through without skipping. It will have significant surface noise, scratches and visible groove wear. Labels will have heavy wear. (If its is a vinyl you have been seeking for years, and the price is right, get it...but look to upgrade down the road)
