Public Enemy Extremely Rare Vinyl Harder Than You Think Secret 7” 2013.

This single is one of an edition of only 100 created for the Secret 7 exhibition and sale which was held at Mother in Shoreditch for Art Against Knives. Each year seven tracks were selected. Various artists for Secret 7 have included Ai WeiWei, Gilbert & George, Sir Peter Blake, Yoko Ono, David Shrigley, Sir Anish Kapoor, Robert Smith, Jeremy Deller, Sir Antony Gormley. Artists were then invited to submit artwork for the covers of the singles along with open submissions. The artwork was exhibited for a period prior to the sale day. Artists were not to state the track name nor the musician although hints of varying degrees were provided or some artistic license used in the creation of the cover. Both the submitting artist and the track were only made known once the record had been purchased. Each cover was unique and is numbered accordingly on the rear of the sleeve. This cover was created in 2103 and the sale coincided with Record Store Day. The photos here include a flyer that I kept from the day but the flyer is not included in the sale and is provided for illustrative purposes only. I can provide a copy of my till receipt from the original sale to the purchaser should the buyer wish.

I queued throughout the preceding day and slept out overnight. Being second in the queue that numbered several hundred I was able to purchase the covers I found most interesting.

This record is mint condition, having never been played. The only time the record has been removed from the sleeve is for photographing it specifically for this sale. As with Secret 7 records, only one side of the record is pressed hence the mirror like quality of the unpressed ‘b’ side.
