Vinyl: There are no surface marks that I can see and the records have not been played more than 2 or 3 times hence retain a near mint finish. All records play well and with little to no surface noise; all instruments and vocals sound nice and clean. I would class the condition of the vinyl as excellent plus approaching near mint.
I am not a dealer and am selling this from my own vinyl collection. The records have been cleaned using the Knosti Disco-Antistat cleaner; the results are generally excellent and surface noise can be much removed. The vinyl itself looks mint with disk and labels in excellent condition; there is a little mottling to the white label on the second record due to age. I have listened to all tracks, not just the first few seconds, on my Technics SL-QL1 record deck, prior to listing it. I have assessed its condition using the Record Collector Magazine’s grading system as a guide. I have also tried to keep my descriptions as honest as possible, but obviously this is subjective, and at the end of the day it is my opinion of how the record sounds. This is an excellent example of a very collectible record set in the unique ‘metal box’ from where the title originates; it is playable without any jumps or skips and is enjoyable to listen to.
Cover: The metal/tin box is not damaged, however is showing signs of age due to tarnishing of the metal. I would class this overall as excellent minus.
Sleeve: The original circular paper separators are all present; one is showing mottling from the label on record 2.
Inserts: There are 2 original inserts, and some cuttings from the New Musical Express dated 24th November 1979. Lyric cuttings have been cellotaped to the inside of the tin.
