Description
Up for grabs here I have a stunning copy of PiL's awesome and groundbreaking Metal Box LP pressed on 3 x 12" singles in 1979 and housed in a circular "Metal Box"!!! Most copies of the tin as you know are generally very badly oxidised/tarnished but this particular copy has been stored in a way that has kept all corrosive elements largely at bay. I bought this from a person who's record collection is amazingly immaculate and he told me he only ever played this copy the one time,and by looking at the amazing condition of the vinyl here I have no reason at all to doubt him. Have a good look at the pictures as they in all honesty do all the talking here. Rarely do you see this particular release come up for sale in such incredible condition. This surely has to be the final upgrade of anyone wanting the finest example of Metal Box. I must add that the original "Metal 1" sticker to the base of the tin and all 4 circular dividers are present and perfectly white as is the original insert. The whole thing is can confidently grade as being in an Excellent/Near Mint condition. The winning bidder will NOT be dissapointed. RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM
MINT :The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed be Mint.
EXCELLENT :The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD :The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
I may use a + or a - to emphasise a grading which may be inbetween a grade. I will never use a mint grading for a 2nd hand/used record for instance. Mint- will be the very highest grade.
