Description

Neon Hearts were Wolverhampton's first punk band, and were born in 1977. And like so many others around the country they tried their hand at breaking out of the Midlands and hitting the smoke and fame. But like so many others before em, fate had other plans!

Perfect punk music from the noble year. Very clean copy (!!) of legendary punk classic from England. Original first UK pressing, released on their own private mini punk label ‘Neon Hearts’ records in 1977 (catalogue number NEON 1).

Their first 7” is part of UK punk history (!!!)

Super-hot and extremely good. The killer “Regulations” is such a classic that almost no-one paid any attention to the excellent flip “Venus Eccentric”. Both tracks were born with superb lyrics and fantastic guitar riffs. These boys had elegance as well. With the band is Martin Ratcliffe and Keith Allen who later founded infamous Mod group The CIRCLES. The band also features Steve Heart of punk band SUBURBAN STUDS and Paul Raven who played for a short time with KILLING JOKE. The vinyl and the original oversized 8” sleeve are in excellent condition.

The actual paper labels stuck to the vinyl are placed on the wrong sides and again this is as it came.

Bought directly from the band at a gig in Stafford these copies don’t come up for sale often. As rare as they come!
