Description

This is an LP from 1971 titled "Dynaco 4-Dimensional Stereo Demonstration Disc" (Dynaco / Vanguard SPV-7). -------- This is not your typical SQ, CD-4 or QS encoded Quad record. It is a proprietary system that was created by Dynaco to be used with the Dynaco Quadaptor that contained the dematrixing circuitry for the surround channels. It can of course be played in standard stereo. ----------- It is a collection of both pop and classical songs performed by various artists including the following: Jean-Jacques Perrey "Flight Of The Bumblebee" on the Moog Synthesizer, Buffy Sainte-Marie "The Angel", Ian & Sylvia "Circle Game", Country Joe & The Fish "Crystal Blues", as well as one cut of sound effects from a steam engine and various cuts of classical music including one by Leopold Stokowski, who was very interested in new forms of sound reproduction. This album represents one of the earliest attempts at Quad or surround sound. ----------- The vinyl is bright and shinney with no marks or scratches other than a couple of ultra-fine dust scratches on side two that are only visible under the brightest of lights. The jacket is also in great condition with just the tiniest trace of wear at the corners. There are no splits, bends on writing on the jacket or on the white labels. The photos are of the actual item for sale. This album is from a smoke free, audiophile home and has been cleaned on a VPI-17 record cleaning machine. *************************** Please see my other ads for more Quad and audiophile items including MFSL half speed LP's and gold CD's.
