Description
This LP is astonishing and is becoming very rare.
It's on the UK Harvest label and is by a band called Quatermass. It's entitled 'Quatermass' and was released in 1970. The music is superb throughout with keyboards and strong vocals dominating.
It's a stereo recording and the catalogue number is SHVL 775.
OUTER SLEEVE - The sleeve which is a laminated gatefold type is in fine condition with some wear, ring wear and creasing on the outer sleeve. The inner portion of the sleeve is in great condition with minimal wear. The edges are in fine condition but the spine shows some definite wear, especially at the top of the sleeve. The wording along the spine is 100% readable. I've graded the sleeve Ex--. It was printed by the E. J. Day Group, London and Bedford.
INNER BAG - Harvest company sleeve which is polythene lined and which features black and white photos of LP covers by other Harvest artists. It's been graded Ex..
RECORD - The record is in fine condition. It appears to have been played a few times. There are some light superficial marks on each side. It plays through well on both sides with some surface noise especially in the quiet passages and one or two pops and clicks on both sides. There are no jumps on any of the tracks on either side..
LABELS - The labels are the original Harvest yellow and green type with black wording. There are some spindle marks on both sides around the hole. The labels are in fine condition with no damage. There is no EMI box logo on the labels which means that this is an early, if not, first pressing. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are - side one - SHVL 775 A - 1 (stampers 1 G) - side two - SHVL 775 B - 2 (stampers 2 R). I've graded the record as Ex- which I believe is very fair.
I try to grade everything very conservatively and I believe that the winner of this auction will not be disappointed. I guarantee everything I sell. It will be difficult to find this record again.
THERE IS NO RESERVE ON THIS ITEM.
