MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND original EMI Records very first STEREO press released in Chile in 1976 by EMI ODEON CHILENA S.A., catalog number 5209, with hand etched matrix numbers YAX 5245 2 in Side A and YAX 5246 4 in Side B, with traditional red/brown EMI Records labels. Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!! WOW!!!

“A DAY AT THE RACES” was originally released in 1976 by EMI Records in Europe and by Elektra Records in USA. The same year we got this album released in Chile and like so many times in that period we got it with an UNIQUE COVER made of 2 pieces of thin laminated cardboard with front cover pasted on the flips of back cover. Both front and back covers keep the original artwork with album title written in English only in front cover and tracklist and credits also written in English only in back cover, with catalog number and EMI logo in the upper right corner and at the bottom is written “Marca Registrada, Fabricado y distribuido por EMI ODEON CHILENA S.A. Santiago -Chile” (“Trademark, Made and Distributed by EMI ODEON CHILENA S.A. Santiago - Chile”). In labels the album title is written in Spanish only and tracklist is written in Spanish, translated to English, with full credits for songwriters. YES, this is A GREAT FIND for all Queen fans and collectors, A MUST TO HAVE!!! A copy of “A DAY AT THE RACES” which almost never surfaces in this great condition!!! WOW!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great EX- or EX condition for both sides, clean and clear, complete with almost perfect lamination, no marks or names written, only light ring marks, some minimal wear at the edges, more evident in corners, no creases, no bends, no rips. The record is in strong EX or EX+ condition, glossy and clean, some soft scuffs and hairlines, hard to see, which don’t affect play. Labels are in absolute NM or NM+ condition, clean and clear both sides, absolutely free of marks. The sound is in strong EX or EX+ condition in both sides, loud, clear and clean, no background noise at all (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), only minimal crackles here and there, which are hard to hear if you are not trying to find them. Overall, this record is superb condition, with a very nice cover and an amazing sound quality after almost 40 years, with no distortions, no skips, no repetitions at all, a record to listen and enjoy from the beginning to the end which won’t disappoint anyone!!! Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

SHIPPING (Packing and Postage)

We have an unique value worldwide: 

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending of thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP7 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
