This rare 2/2 press of this iconic LP overall has excellent audio and visually it is stunning.  Under direct light I cannot see any hairlines and I would say has been rarely played and still retains that glossy look of new vinyl.

  'Death On Two Legs' plays with no background noise, perhaps just the slightest of distortion but with no detriment to the audio.  'Lazing..' has a couple of very faint clicks at the beginning and thereafter plays with superb sound.  'You're My Best Friend' has a couple of pops but no other interference.  The remaining tracks play almost as new.  'Seaside Rendevouz' as always with this LP plays with a little distortion caused by the grooves being pressed closer together in order to fit onto the side.  

The intro to 'The Prophet's Song' plays very clearly with only the absolute slightest of static.  The 'now I know' section plays amazingly well with just a couple of static sounds.  There are a couple of louder pops right at the end of the track and a few light clicks at the beginning of 'Love Of My Life' although in my opinion it is not obtrusive.  The remainder of the track plays with superb audio.  'Good Company' plays as new and then that leaves 'Bohemian Rhapsody'.  The intro again plays with a little static but from then on plays very clearly with no interference.  

Overall an excellent first press and whilst there is a little static here and there and a few light clicks the audio is still crisp and plays with excellent clarity.  The majority of the LP plays with no background noise and considering this is a rare first press the audio is of a high standard.  Being a first press it of course has Blair's etched into the dead wax not Mr Blair's Cut.  

The Garrod and Lofthouse overall is in excellent condition with only mild handling wear.  Generally very clean it does have some discolouration to the front and back.  However, the edges and spine are very clean, just two very very small 'nicks' on the top edge.  The top and bottom corners on the right hand side have some rubbing but overall has retained its shape well for 40 years old as can be seen on the pictures.   You can also see a small sticker mark bottom right.  The inside of the gatefold is stunning.  Being a first  press it doesn't have the glossy sheen of later versions and of course has the famous embossed crest.  

The inner sleeve with cut corners (as per all first presses) is in excellent condition and is one of the cleanest I have seen.  It just has a little wear on the the bottom edge approx 3cm.
