HERE WE HAVE A SUPERB, UK EMI (EMTC 103) FIRST PRESSING (November 1975) OF QUEEN'S CLASSIC "A Night At The Opera" LP - IN BEAUTIFUL, BARELY PLAYED CONDITION

PRESSED ON QUALITY MID-WEIGHT WHICH DELIVERS TREMENDOUS AUDIO - BEAUTIFUL CRYSTAL CLEAR, RICH AND POWERFUL SOUND WITH AN IMPRESSIVE LOUD CUT
THE LP HAS THE FIRST EMI PICTURE LABELS
FIRST ISSUE MATRICES: YAX 5063 - 2 / YAX 5064 - 2 (with "BLAIRS" etched on both run-offs)
AND IS HOUSED IN THE ORIGINAL EMBOSSED GATEFOLD SLEEVE WITH INTERNAL LYRICS, PRINTED BY "Garrod and Lofthouse Limited" WITH FACTORY SEALED LEFT SIDE EDGE
COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL FIRST ISSUE CUT-CORNER INNER SLEEVE

THIS REALLY IS A BEAUTIFUL UK *COMPLETE* FIRST ISSUE AND A FINER COPY WOULD BE VERY HARD TO LOCATE INDEED - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Queen were straining at the boundaries of hard rock and heavy metal on Sheer Heart Attack, but they broke down all the barricades on A Night at the Opera, a self-consciously ridiculous and overblown hard rock masterpiece.
Using the multi-layered guitars of its predecessor as a foundation, A Night at the Opera encompasses metal ("Death on Two Legs," "Sweet Lady"), pop (the lovely, shimmering "You're My Best Friend"), campy British music hall ("Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon," "Seaside Rendezvous", "Good Company"), and mystical prog rock ("'39," "The Prophet's Song"), eventually bringing it all together on the pseudo-operatic "Bohemian Rhapsody."
No one in the band takes anything too seriously, otherwise the arrangements wouldn't be as ludicrously exaggerated as they are. But the appeal — and the influence — of A Night at the Opera is in its detailed, meticulous productions.
It's prog rock with a sense of humor as well as dynamics, and Queen never bettered their approach anywhere else.

LABELS: The labels are CLEAN and BRIGHT with NO unwanted marks/writing and less than a dozen light spindles. NOT OVERPLAYED AT ALL
VINYL Visual: The vinyl still retains its DEEP, LIKE-NEW, GLOSSY SHEEN and is practically UNMARKED. BEAUTIFUL, amost AS-NEW RECORD
VINYL Audio: The audio is OUTSTANDING THROUGHOUT - CRYSTAL CLEAR, VERY STRONG and VIBRANT PLAYBACK. There are NO scratches, NO sticks/jumps, NO clicks or pops. SOUNDS STUNNING and plays to an extremely high standard with NO groove-wear or distortion. Must be graded NEAR MINT for audio. BEAUTIFUL COPY AND A FINER FIRST PRESS EXAMPLE I DO NOT THINK YOU WILL FIND. NOT over-graded in ANY way as I use strict RECORD COLLECTOR grading standards (please refer to my feedback and 'About Me' page)
SLEEVE: The 1st issue THICK CARD gatefold sleeve is in BEAUTIFUL condition. Being predominantly white this is a very difficult sleeve to find in anything even approaching MINT condition but this is easily one of the finest and CLEANEST sleeves I have seen. There is NO wear to its edges or spine - where all text is CLEAR and BOLD and the whole sleeve has a CRISP, SHARP and FACTORY-FRESH feel. NEAR MINT
INNER SLEEVE: The original first issue THICK CARD corner cut inner (with EMTC 103 (1) text) is also NEAR MINT - CLEAN, SHARP and FRESH. The centre of the bottom edge shows some record pressure but it has not split through. The LP is now housed - and will be posted in - a new inner to prevent any 'knifing' damage to the original during transit
