Description

I am selling Greatest Hits, Greatest Hits II and Greatest Hits III on vinyl and on separate auctions and all are in stunning condition.

On offer here is a first press UK release of Greatest Hits.  It is very rare to find a rare A1/B1 pressing in this condition.  Visually I have not seen better and can only detect the faintest of hairlines under a bright light.  This is rare for this LP as they have generally been played to death down the years so to find an A1/B1  pressing in this condition is a real find.  I play test every track and this is one of the best Greatest Hits I have heard let alone that is an A1/B1 press.

'Bohemian Rhapsody' does start with a little background crackle but it is not obtrusive in any way.  The remainder of the side plays with no skips or jumps and with great clarity.  There is barely any interference although 'Save Me' does play with a little distortion.

Side Two plays with excellent audio again.  'Somebody To Love' has one click right at the beginning but apart from that there is very little background noise.  I would say the final tracks do play with a little distortion but I would say this is the usual story of the grooves being pressed closer together so the tracks can fit onto the side and this can affect the sound quality.

To summarise this rare first press is in excellent condition, probably one of the cleanest copies you will find.

For its age the cover is in excellent condition with only minor wear.  The edges and spine have no shelf wear at all.  There are just a few minor creases and a slightly larger one by the opening edge but to be honest they are not that obvious and may not even show up on the photos.  I mention them for the sake of completeness really and you would be hard pressed to find a better one.  The opening edge is very clean with only mild handling wear.

The record inner (made of thick card as per the early presses) is in superb condition with no splits or tears.

I ONLY SEND ITEMS TO ITALY, RUSSIA AND SOUTH AMERICA "SIGNED FOR" AS TOO MANY ITEMS GO MISSING AND COSTS AN ADDITIONAL £6.00.  PLEASE ONLY BID IF YOU AGREE WITH THIS.

I ALWAYS COMBINE POSTAGE COSTS IF MORE THAN ONE ITEM IS WON / DOUBLE LPs COUNT AS TWO RECORDS.

ALL RECORDS ARE PROFESSIONALLY PACKED IN STRONG MAILERS WITH CARDBOARD STIFFENERS.  THEY ARE PUT INTO A SEPARATE SLEEVE TO AVOID CUTTING THROUGH THE ORIGINAL.  THE COVER AND RECORD ARE THEN PLACED SEPARATELY INSIDE A PVC SLEEVE.

I WILL LEAVE FEEDBACK AS SOON AS I RECEIVE FEEDBACK - SO I KNOW THE ITEM WAS RECEIVED SAFELY AND THAT YOU ARE HAPPY WITH IT :-)

In the coming weeks and months I will be putting plenty of Queen, Pink Floyd, Genesis and Marillion items on the site so please keep a look out!  Many thanks.  Please look at my other items on now!
