Description
Queen : Innuendo 1st Press A2 / B2
Here I am selling another Innuendo first press and this particular one is in immaculate condition. More below!
This original pressing from 1991 plays to a fantastic standard on both sides and yes, as always, I have played every track in full, and quite often twice. There are no clicks or pops and barely any static. The clarity, depth and power of the audio is so impressive and in all honesty the sonic quality is like that of an un-played vinyl! In fact there is no spindle wear so I suspect this has only been once, maybe twice at most. Perhaps never! It is a FINAL UPGRADE version and you could not wish to find a first pressing as exceptional as this one.
The cover is also super clean with barely any of the marking that you so often see. It is still so 'white' and the lyric inner is in superb condition with no side splits.
Royal Mail shipping costs have massively increased recently and these are shown below. Please could you wait before making payment so I can calculate the exact cost.

The audio on S1 is Mint- (Track 1 Near Mint+)
The audio on S2 is Mint-
The cover Near Mint
The lyric inner is Near Mint+
The labels are Mint
The 'percussive' intro on 'Innuendo' plays perfectly and as it develops there is such definition to the sound that you can immediately tell this has hardly been played. As the vocal comes in the clarity is still there and it continues to impress with breathtaking quality. The Spanish guitar section has only a small number of very quiet non-intrusive ticks but for once there is no underlying static or crackle and that is becoming increasingly hard to find on these first pressings. The remainder of this section is faultless and then as we get back into the 'heavier' part of the track the audio could not play with any greater clarity or power. This is a fantastic version of this classic and even the long final note has no 'background'. This easily deserves a Near Mint+ grade and is one of the finest examples I have ever heard.
'I'm Going Slightly Mad' goes one better and grades as Mint as there is literally no interference of any kind. Again there is such depth to this track, a wonderful deep rich sound and the sonic quality is superb.
'Headlong' is of the same 'high end' standard and plays with great power and depth from start to finish. Each note plays with stunning precision and again it is patently obvious this record has rarely been on a turntable! This is Mint in every single way.
What follows is quite possibly the most stunning version of 'I Can't Live With You' that I have ever had the pleasure in listening to. I cannot put into words just how impressive the audio is but needless to say the sonic quality is equal to that of an unplayed record and there is no distortion at all. A sublime Mint version.
'Ride The Wild Wind' plays to the same immaculate standard and again it is worth pointing out that there is no inner groove distortion which is especially rare on 90s vinyl! It goes without saying there is no interference and from beginning to end the clarity is sensational. The fade out is also 'as new'. A Mint finish to the side.
--------------------------------------------------------------
The run in grooves on S2 have no 'background' and the intro on 'All God's People' then plays with incredible clarity and power. As the volume decreases there are a couple of very light ticks, nothing like clicks I hasten to add! Thereafter you would not believe how well it plays! There is no interference and again the 'sound' quality is outstanding. With rarely played records there is always a real sense of depth to the songs and nowhere is that more in evidence than on this track. Mint-
'These Are The Days Of Our Lives' plays beautifully from the first groove to the last. There are no clicks, pops, static or crackle and the clarity is exceptional throughout. It is so rare today to find a genuine Mint version but that is what we have here! As my regular customers understand I grade honestly and this is as 'complete' a version that you could ever wish to hear. The fade out plays perfectly giving you a good idea of the clarity on offer here. A true classic.
'Delilah' is of the same exact standard with not one iota of interference. With not even a dust tick this is Mint in every way.
There are a couple of static ticks in the dead wax but the intro on 'Don't Try So Hard' is as close to perfect as is possible. There is just a minimal amount of very light static that is in no way intrusive and is disappears very soon after the vocal begins. It continues to play with amazing clarity and needless to say there is no interference. This track often has some 'background' I find and again this shows how well this album has been preserved. Every verse and chorus plays with sublime clarity and the quiet end section just has a couple of very light static sounds. Mint- and what a version!
'The Hitman' you won't be surprised to hear plays with such a dynamic powerful sound and there is no interference. It is also free of distortion and can be played at maximum level! Loud and true this is Mint from start to finish.
The abridged version of the gentle 'Bijou' plays 'as new' and any Queen collector will know how rare that is! The audio is so precise and there is not so much as a dust tick! Wow! Is this record nearly 30 years old?! Mint all the way.
'The Show Must Go On' ends this classic album with 'high end' audio as you would expect. It plays to an unbelievable standard the likes of which I have rarely heard before. The power and sonic quality is so impressive and I cannot overstate just how well this plays. For once there is no distortion and every section plays with a definition and precision that is out of this world! Admittedly the quiet 'Go on...' end section does have a couple of static ticks but this does not take way from what a STUNNING version this is. It provides a fantastic finale to this album and Mint- is more than deserved.
In summary this FINAL UPGRADE first pressing could hardly play any better! With wonderful clarity and depth there are no clicks or pops and only a very minimal amount of light non-intrusive static. Believe me when I say it is very minimal - this is vinyl and any audiophile will appreciate there will always be some 'background' with this medium but the clarity on both sides is exceptional. I repeat it is so obvious that this record has hardly been played which is all the more impressive when you consider that vinyl from the 1990s was not exactly renown for its audio quality. You regularly find the quieter sections during '...Days Of Our Lives', 'Don't Try So Hard' and 'Bijou' playing with some static/crackle but that is not the case here. It is also rare to find the cover and lyric inner is such perfect condition. A stunning 'package' in every way!
Visual gradingThe vinyl is visually stunning and still has that 'as new' jet-black glossy sheen. There are no marks or scratches and only a couple of very fine small hairlines either that obviously have no affect on the audio. There is no spindle wear and the run out grooves are also super clean with no marking.
The Cover
This cover is so 'clean' and has no obvious shelf wear at all. It is has been so well preserved and has retained its original white colour so well. It has also kept its shape which can only mean it has hardly been handled. The edges are super clean with just one small 'spot' on the bottom edge and the spine is 'as new'. There is barely any corner wear, just a couple of tiny creases, and the opening edge is also in superb condition. As stated the front cover is in great order with just one very minor crease top right and the original sticker is still firmly attached. The back cover is similar with just a very small area of 'spotting' next to the opening edge. There is another sticker with QUEEN INNUENDO and the catalogue number on it. A fantastic example and rarely seen in such lovely condition today.
The Lyric Inner
The glossy lyric inner is nigh on perfect with just one very small corner crease. It is super clean with no side splits or marking and the thumb notch area has no wear which makes a change.
The Labels
They are both very clean with no marking or writing and no sign of any spindle wear. The S2 label just has one 'mark' by the spindle hole but this is common, I have seen it on many records, and I believe it is caused during the manufacture/pressing.
