Made In Heaven A2/B2 UK 1st Press Cream Vinyl LP (Limited Edition)

This original 1991 cream coloured vinyl plays with excellent quality and comes complete with a very impressive gatefold and the three posters are 'as new'.  The lyric inner just has one very small side split.

Visual grading

This vinyl is in lovely condition and has hardly been played.  There is only a couple of minor spindle traces on the S2 label and none on S1.  The vinyl has no scratches and there are only a small number of very faint sleeve removal hairlines and it took me a fair while to find those!  I had to look under various lights.  It retains a very healthy glossy sheen and is certainly one of the better examples of this now 23 year old record.

Play grading  

On this coloured vinyl 'It's A Beautiful Day' always starts with some crackle and there is some obvious here.  Once the vocal begins the audio is much improved with only light background static.  There is a little more static on the end instrumental section also.  The intro on 'Made In Heaven' has very little static and then plays with wonderful clarity and plays practically 'as new' aside from minimal static literally at the end.  'Let Me Live' is impressive and again plays very clearly with just a minimal amount of light static on the intro.  The remainder plays with impeccable quality.  The classic 'Mother Love' plays with excellent clarity but with a little intermittent static.  It is largely non-intrusive and there are no clicks or pops.  'My Life Has Been Saved' ends the side with superb clarity and barely any interference.  This track definitely grades as Near Mint in my opinion.  

'I Was Born To Love You' on S2 has some static on the opening 3/4 grooves and then plays with exceptional quality aside from a touch of static on the fade out.  'Heaven For Everyone' has what I would call light crackle on the intro and the end section but many sections do play with perfect precision.  There is some light static in some of the quieter sections but nothing intrusive.  The emotive 'Too Much Love Will Kill You' for the vast majority plays with great clarity for such a quiet track.  There is some ubiquitous static but again this is largely non-intrusive.  No clicks or pops, just light crackle on the fade out.  'You Don't Fool Me' plays to near perfection and the clarity and depth here is superb.  This track is also worthy of a Near Mint grading.  'A Winter's Tale' has only very light static on the intro and certainly does not intrude on the quality of the listen.  The remainder of the track plays in sublime fashion, it really is a stunning version and there is no distortion on the top end whatsoever.  track and the remainder plays with perfect precision.  'It's A Beautiful Day (reprise)' provides a suitably impressive finish to this LP with only a minor static on the intro.  The rest of the track plays nigh on perfectly.

In summary the audio on this very collectable album is very impressive overall and indeed much of plays with Near Mint quality.  There is some light static here and there but I only mention it to be complete in my grading and to many this does not class as interference as it is only what you expect with vinyl.  A couple of sections with some crackle but as I say this plays extremely well overall.  Coloured vinyl often plays with some 'background' but aside from the intro on S1 there is nothing here to worry about.  The gatefold is in great shape and of course it comes complete with the three posters that are in perfect condition. 

The Gatefold

The cover is in great condition with minimal shelf wear.  Only the top edge of the back cover has some rubbing on the centre - the other edges have no wear at all.  The wide spine is also extremely clean with only a little rubbing each end and the opening edges have no handling wear either.  The front cover has no marking and only a small number of faint creases around the edges.  The back cover is also in excellent order with no marking and only one slightly more obvious crease near the top edge.  The inside of the gatefold is in immaculate condition with no marking.  Included is the small advertising flyer which does have one side crease.
