Queen : News Of The World 1/2 1st Press
This genuine first press plays to a superb standard with no obvious interference! There are no clicks or pops and only the bare minimum of very static on a couple of tracks. The playback is outstanding - all tracks plays with such strong audio but 'It's Late' is a real highlight here.
The iconic cover is also in excellent condition with only minimal wear and whilst the original lyric inner has one edge split it does not have any marking or creasing.

Play grading
The intro on 'We Will Rock You' plays with superb clarity and only the lightest of background static that is barely audible. It continues to play with great quality and there are no clicks or pops to be heard. There is no distortion on the top end and this is easily a Near Mint version if not better!
'We Are The Champions' plays with stunning quality from the very groove, the quiet intro has no interference at all. The first chorus is immaculate and I am pleased to say it plays to the same standard as it progresses. This is one of the finest examples you are ever likely to hear, the clarity and definition of the audio could not be any better. Mint- is easily deserved, what a version!
'Sheer Heart Attack' is outstanding from start to finish with no 'background' of any kind. The depth and power on this track is so strong and it is clear it has hardly been played, there is no groove wear and in essence it plays as well as it did back in '77 and grades as Mint
The piano intro on 'All Dead All Dead' is nigh on perfect with only one static tick and from that point on plays beautifully with only the odd dust tick. A quiet track and yet there is no intrusion and Near Mint is more than deserved.
'Spread Your Wings' again plays to a superb standard with just one mega light tick near the start, so quiet you might miss it! A handful of barely audible dust ticks also but this does not classify as interference! It is such a strong version and for once there is no obvious distortion either. A stunning Near Mint version but that may be under-selling it!
'Fight From The Inside' ends the side with 'high end' quality and, you guessed it, no interference. Now this track often plays with distortion but it is kept to an absolute minimum here and gives a good indication of the clarity on offer. Near Mint at the very least.

'Get Down Make Love' has only very minimal static on the quiet intro and as the vocal begins the audio is flawless. It continues to play with wonderful clarity and the 'louder' chorus sections are 'as new'. The psychedelic section has no 'background' and again you cannot believe what you are listening to! To the very end the audio is amazing and grades as Near Mint although it was again a coin toss if this should be Mint-!
'Sleeping On The Sidewalk' has a super clean intro with only a couple of dust ticks and then plays with such depth and warmth and no 'muddiness' to the sound either. On a 'clean' vinyl like this you get a real sense of the depth and heavy bass here. No clicks, pops, static or crackle this 'jazzy' number is Mint-
'Who Needs You' is always a good test for any first pressing being a relatively quiet track and this one does not disappoint! The clarity from start to finish is immaculate and the only 'background' is one very light tick during the acoustic mid section. It could scarcely play any better, there is clarity and then there is incredible clarity such as this. Another Mint- track.
The quiet intro on the classic 'It's Late' plays with stunning precision and as Freddie joins in the audio is equally as good. The first 'chorus' is STUNNING in every way and 'as new' is no exaggeration. From then on it plays with breathtaking clarity and power and the mid instrumental section is awesome! Such power and depth, it also has no distortion which is a rarity. The final chorus also plays with astounding quality and to the final note this is as good as version as you would want to hear. Wow! Mint- I am confident in saying.
I have listened to many first pressings of this album over the years and 'My Melancholy Blues' often plays with a fair amount of static/crackle. This version has only a minimal amount of very light static which is in no way intrusive, just the odd very light tick if I'm honest which you often find on 'new' vinyl let alone one that is 43 years old! It plays extremely well with no no clicks or pops and Near Mint- is about right. A fine way to end the album.
In summary this first pressing plays to a superb standard with no real interference whatsoever. The clarity is phenomenal and there is not one single click or pop on either side. Yes it has been played numerous times but there is no groove wear and this no audio deterioration. The playback is so strong and even the quieter 'moment's play so well. A stunning first press for sure.
Visual grading
The vinyl is in lovely condition and retains a very healthy glossy sheen. There are no marks or scratches and there is only one obvious hairline on S1. Apart from that it is visually stunning and only on very close inspection can I find a small number of extremely faint sleeve removal hairlines. S2 is immaculate! There is some spindle wear but has not been excessively played that much you can tell from the audio quality alone. It is a very impressive example and the run out grooves are also super clean.
The Gatefold
It is so difficult to find one in decent condition because it is unlaminated but this one has weathered the passage of time very well! It has only minor shelf wear. The edges have only minimal rubbing and the wide spine is very clean with only a couple of small 'rubs' and a little wear on the corners. The right hand corners are in excellent order with only very minimal wear and the opening edge is immaculate. The front cover is extremely clean with only no marking, just a couple of minor 'specks' and the back cover is even better! The inside of the gatefold is in perfect condition. A fine example overall.
The Lyric Inner
The original inner (with rounded corners) is very clean with no marking or creasing but as is common does have a split on the bottom edge and one small rub on the left edge.
The Labels
They are in great order with no marking or writing just some spindle wear as stated.
