News Of The World 1/3 Second pressing

On offer here is a high quality second pressing of News of The World.  The audio is absolutely stunning and the gatefold and lyric inner are also in perfect shape.  This is a final upgrade copy without doubt.

Side One is Mint-

Visual grading

  This is in pristine condition.  Very rarely do you see such an early press looking as immaculate as this.  It has a wonderful glossy sheen and with no spindle wear it suggests that it has been hardly played, if at all.  There are just 3/4 tiny hairline marks at the end of Side One but apart from that it is perfect shape.

Play grading  

Side One plays with immaculate sound.  There is just a touch of the quietest static to be heard but is so much in the background as to be negligible in my opinion.  The clarity across the whole side is astonishing and there are no clicks or unwanted interference whatsoever.  'All Dead All Dead' is a classic example of this and plays so clearly for such a quiet track.  'Fight From The Inside' plays with a little distortion which is often the case with the final track on the side.

'Get Down Make Love' has almost zero lead in static and then continues to play with wonderful audio.  If it were possible this side plays better than Side One.  The strength of the audio is breathtaking and quite honestly sounds like new.  I cannot use enough superlatives for the sound quality here!  The tracks play with Mint quality and the classic 'It's Late' does not disappoint either plays with fantastic quality.  'My Melancholy Blues' ends proceedings with impeccable audio again and no interference.  I cannot state enough just how good this side is!  The audio in my opinion could not be beaten.

In summary the audio on this second pressing is practically of Mint standard.  You expect to hear some static sounds/dust ticks on new vinyl but there is barely any interference to be heard on this vinyl.  This fantastic early pressing would not disappoint any fan.  

Gatefold cover

The G & L gatefold is immaculate and is probably the best I have ever seen.  It is near impossible to pick any fault!  The edges and wide spine are in superb order.  Perhaps the slightest of rubbing on a couple of corners?  The inside is beautifully clean as is the opening edge.  There are a couple of indentation marks on the reverse but they very difficult to spot.  Overall a fantastic gatefold that would be nigh on impossible to improve upon.

Lyric inner

This is the best die-cut lyric inner I have seen with no imperfections at all.  For this paper sleeve to have no splits is such a rarity and you hardly ever see one today.  Mint all the way!
