ROCK IN JAPAN 2 x VINYL LP
This very rare bootleg was released by Flashback World Productions in 1991 and is rare to find in this superlative condition. Only 5,000 copies were pressed making it even more collectible. It was actually recorded at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium, Tokyo on 11th May 1985 and not the Castle Hall, Osaka on 15th May as stated on the cover. It features rare live versions of 'It's A Hard Life' and 'Dragon Attack' among others.
Visual grading
For 25 years old the vinyls are in wonderful condition and appear unplayed. I can't detect any hairlines or scratches and they have that glossy sheen of new vinyl. This is definitely the best 'Rock in Japan' I have seen.
Play grading
I have playtested both vinyls and whilst you can't expect Mint production for a bootleg the audio is of an exceptionally high standard. There is absolute minimal static and no clicks or jumps at all and for a bootleg the audio ranks as Near Mint. With almost zero lead in static on all four sides and complete silence between tracks this rare LP would be a great addition to any collection. 'Love of my Life' in particular plays superbly well with no interference and excellent audience participation! It's quite amusing to hear Freddie addressing the Japanese public so politely and with no swearing! This has to be one of the best Queen bootlegs I have heard.
Gatefold cover
The cover is near perfect except for minimal rubbing to the bottom of the spine but that is being really picky! The edges, spine and opening edges are in superb shape as is the inside of the gatefold. It complete with a couple of interesting spelling mistakes on the tracklisting :-)
Labels
The labels are in perfect condition.
