Description
This first press of Sheer Heart Attack is absolutely stunning. From the vinyl, to the cover to the lyric sheet I have never seen or heard better. It plays 'as new' it is that good. There really aren't enough superlatives enough to describe this LP and of course the fact it is a 3U/4U press makes it even more collectible. During playback I only heard a couple of pops during Stone Cold Crazy' and one on 'Dear Friends'. The vinyl retains the original glossy sheen and the audio quality is superb. You would be happy with this 'sound' if produced in 2014 let alone 1974! Crackle is practically non-existent. I sold a fantastic 'Sheer Heart Attack' in December but this one more than matches it. Yes a couple of hairlines but they have no affect on the sound at all. Obviously it has been extremely well looked after and hardly played. If anyone is after a first press that plays almost as Mint then this is the one to own.
The laminated cover is probably the best I have seen. Laminate covers are so prone to wear but this one only has the merest hint of wear. There are a few very small creases along the top of the cover and the spine which you expect from laminate covers of this age but other than that is almost perfect. The edges and corners are all free of any rubbing and it has a very clean opening edge and a wonderful strong thin pinched spine.
Perhaps even more rare is the paper lyric sleeve (with cut corners) that is in absolutely prefect condition - how rare is that?!!
This is a fantastic first press that will not disappoint any fan :-)
Play tested on my Technics SL-J110R turntable system
The vinyl I would grade as Near Mint
The cover is Near Mint-
The lyric inner is Mint
The original EMI
labels are Mint (no spindle wear)
Any questions please feel free to ask.
Please pay within 4 days of auction end.
I ONLY SEND ITEMS TO ITALY, RUSSIA AND SOUTH AMERICA "SIGNED FOR" AS TOO MANY ITEMS GO MISSING AND COSTS AN ADDITIONAL £6.00. PLEASE ONLY BID IF YOU AGREE WITH THIS.
I ALWAYS COMBINE POSTAGE COSTS IF MORE THAN ONE ITEM IS WON / DOUBLE LPs COUNT AS TWO RECORDS.
ALL RECORDS ARE PROFESSIONALLY PACKED IN STRONG MAILERS WITH CARDBOARD STIFFENERS. THE RECORDS ARE ALSO REMOVED FROM THEIR SLEEVES TO AVOID CUTTING THROUGH THE COVER AND THEN PUT INTO A SEPARATE SLEEVE AND THEN PLACED INSIDE A PVC SLEEVE.

In the coming weeks and months I will be putting plenty of Queen, Pink Floyd, Genesis and Marillion items on the site so please keep a look out! Many thanks. Please look at my other items on now!
