Quicksilver Messenger Service - Quicksilver Messenger Service (extremely and very possibly unique Capitol Records MONO mix ACETATE from 1968) UNRELEASED in mono IN THE U.S.!!

No cover * Looks EX but plays EX to M- (that doesn't mean flawless, but it does mean damn close)

I have no idea how many of these were cut (must have been only a handful at most) but I'd be surprised if ANY have survived in this condition!

After asking and googling around, I could only find an official British release for a mono mix of this LP. I have not compared this acetate with the U.K. released mono mix.

The acetate plays beautifully! It's got the loud, full, punchy fidelity you'd expect from a clean acetate and has obviously been played very few times. The mono mix sounds brilliant, like a train coming straight at you. (Personally I prefer to hear early west coast psych in mono, i.e. the 1st Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Moby Grape et al.) It has NONE of the problems commonly associated with worn acetates (distortion, crackles, dullness, etc.) It sounds fantastic.

I found this many years ago here in Hollywood, amongst a pile of other old Capitol acetates. The Euphoria acetate I auctioned off earlier this year was from the same stash.
