Description
This LP is getting very difficult to find.
It's on the UK Island label and is entitled 'In Blissful Company' by Quintessence.
It's a stereo recording and the catalogue number is ILPS 9110Q. It was released in 1969 on the original pink Island label with the white 'i' logo.
OUTER SLEEVE - The gatefold sleeve is in fine condition. The front and back show some very minor wear. There is a very small sticker tear on the top right hand front corner. The edges and spine are in fine condition with some wear. The wording along the spine is 100% readable. The inside of the sleeve is in great condition with almost no wear. There is a 12 page die cut black and white booklet within the inner sleeve. 10 pages of this booklet have become detached from the inner sleeve but these could be invisibly reattached easily by the winner of this auction. The booklet is, otherwise, intact and in great condition. It states on the rear of the gatefold sleeve 'Printed and made by the E. J. Day, London'. I've graded the sleeve VG++.
INNER BAG - This is a printed purple and white type with two water colour paintings, one on each side. It is in fine condition except for a 60mm split on one edge which could be invisibly repaired. The inner bag has been graded Ex--.
RECORD - The record is in fine condition although it looks to have been well played. There are some definite surface marks on each side which are audible in the quiet sections and between tracks. It plays through well on both sides with some minor surface noise and some pops and clicks. There are no jumps on any of the tracks on either side.
LABELS - The labels are the original textured 'pink island' type with the black and white letter 'i' Island logo at the bottom and black wording. There are some definite spindle marks on both sides around the hole. The labels are in fine condition with no damage. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are - side one - ILPS 9110Q A//1 7 1 - side two - ILPS 9110Q B//2 12 which means that it is a first pressing, as far as I know. On the right hand side of the labels it states - 'Produced by John Barham'. I've graded the record as VG++ which I believe is very fair.
I try to grade everything very accurately and I believe that the winner of this auction will not be disappointed. I guarantee everything I sell. It will be difficult to find this record again.
THERE IS NO RESERVE ON THIS ITEM.
