Description
QUICKSILVER MESSENGER SERVICE Capitol (U.S.) ST - 2904
Up for auction is a NM (played once by me, bought as NM unplayed decades ago) OG 1968 U.S. Capitol (Jacksonville) pressing of the trippy and fantastic debut of the Bay area's Quicksilver Messenger Service. Every track a winner, with the standouts being "Gold and Silver" and "The Fool". Lots of great guitar from Duncan, and especially Cipollina on this one.
DEAD WAX INFO: Side 1 has ST1 2904 B4#2 O etched into the dead wax. Side 2 has ST1 2904 B4²#1 O etched into the dead wax. Original 1968 U.S. Capitol pressing (Jacksonville plant), kind of rare in this shape. VINYL VISUAL: NM at best with one small press bump and little else. Labels show no play. Could maybe use a cleaning.
VINYL PLAY GRADE: NM with AS NEW fidelity. Press bump no issue on Side 1, but on Side 2 you can barely hear a small noise 3 times (over three revolutions) on a Freiberg acapella vocal refrain near the end of "The Fool". Not enough to downgrade, but I thought that I would mention it for the diehards out there
COVER VISUAL: VG+ and better with full shrink on foiled-front single sleeve cover. Some corner softening, and one small corner bump front right bottom. Shows ringwear in photos, but 95% of this is on shrink only. Some very minor creasing along bottom front where inner flap is. Some minor feathering wear at opening where shrink has receded some. Small pen writing on rear shrink that is PROBABLY REMOVABLE. Overall, an excellent example that would be tough to top. These foil covers didn't hold up too well to wear, especially after removed from shrink wrap.
Comes with plain white die-cut paper inner which I have lined with an Audiophile rice plastic inner. DETAILS ON SELLER AND SHIPPING
HELLO ALL. My name is Jamie, and I have been collecting records steadily for over 45 years. After a bit of a respite from selling on Ebay, I am back and will be selling a ton of stuff over the next few years. My tastes run all over the map, so there will be something for everyone. All opened items will be visually AND aurally graded. All Dead Wax info will be listed. Play grade is done on a Thorens TD 165 through Yamaha amplification and JBL reference headphones (treble set high so there will be no surprises when you get the item).
ALL ITEMS WILL BE SHIPPED WITH PROPER MAILERS AND EXTRA PADDING, PARTICULARLY AT THE CORNERS. I HAVE MADE FAR TOO MANY PURCHASES ON EBAY WHERE THE ITEM HAS ARRIVED WITH DINGED CORNERS DUE TO INADEQUATE PACKAGING MATERIAL. BY USING FOLDED BUBBLE WRAP IN ALL FOUR CORNERS, YOU CAN BE ASSURED OF AN ITEM WITHOUT DINGED CORNERS (OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND FOR THAT MATTER). Non-tracked shipping throughout the U.S.A will be $13 CANADIAN per item, as will tracked shipping within Canada. Tracked shipping to the U.S.A. will be $16 CANADIAN for items under 500g, and slightly more for items over 500g. Most single sleeve items can be shipped as under 500g. Gatefolds and multi-sets will be over 500g.
Being a reasonable person, I will be absorbing ALL of the shipping material cost, and some of the actual postage cost.
If you have issue with an item, PLEASE work with me to achieve an outcome that will be to your satisfaction. I do offer full refunds (excluding cost to get it back to me), on any item that is not satisfactory. SINCE SHIPPING OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA IS RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE (Thank You Canada Post), I will rarely list gatefolds or multi-items for sale overseas. IF ANYONE OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA IS CRAZY INTERESTED IN ANY ITEM, I WILL QUOTE SHIPPING ON REQUEST. Since a lot of the stuff that I will be selling is of higher end quality, rarely will things be offered overseas. Sorry folks. Again, I can consider requests on an item-by-item basis. THANKS FOR READING, everyone. Occasionally I will be selling rare and collectible CDs. Shipping obviously will be much less, around $5 CANADIAN within North America.
