Description
Rare R. Crumb 78 rpm "ORDINARY" Record (10") in a colorful paper sleeve, along with the cardboard mailing envelope from Krupp Comic Works, Inc. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Tom Wilson in Brookpark, Ohio. The postal rate was Book rate of 16 cents dated out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin May 14, 1974.
The record label is marked on both sides: A New Standard of Standardness" ORDINARY Record. 78. Krupp Recording Laboratory, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Copyright 1972.
Side A of the record has "NR-2263-1" etched below the label and Side B has "NR-2263-2" etched on the record just below the label. (See picture of the NR-2263-1)
One side of the record is 5000-A, RIVER BLUES, R. Crumb and his Keep-on-Truckin' Orchestra - String Band with Singing and the other side is 5000-B, WISCONSIN WIGGLES, R. Crumb and his Keep-on-Truckin' Orchestra, String Band with Musical Saw.
The paper sleeve with R. Crumb artistry, is in clean, crisp condition and in tact. Shows very little wear on the top open part where the record comes out of the sleeve.
The record plays fine with the exception of a slight 5/8" scratch (audible) near the edge and a long "surface mark" on Side B (cosmetic and does not affect the playing of the record). Side A plays fine.
The colorful record sleeve is worth framing, along with the record.
Great to have the original mailing envelope coming from Krupp Comic Works in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
A rare fine.
