Description

What It Is: This is the great DIY independent R.Stevie Moore's first full LP, Phonography. This isn't the first edition from 1976 (only 100 pressed then), but R.Stevie's reissue from 1978.

"This record was compiled from home tapes recorded in Nashville, Tennessee between 1974 and 1976 by R. Stevie Moore. The first edition was pressed on 100 copies in 1976 for demonstration purposes. An edited ep called FOUR FROM PHONOGRAPHY was officially released in January 1978, marking the birth of H.P.Music . The second release, STANCE, emerged in September 1978. A 12" 45 EP, it was comprised of news Nashville recordings. In November the second edition of this original long player was added to the H.P. catalog."

" Phonography is a solo work, overdubbed on Sony & Teac 1/4 track stereo tape recorders at leisure. The artist used Hagstrom & Gibson electric guitars, a piano, Premier drums, and various toy devices."

Condition:

Jacket: VG+: A little ring wear, and a little discoloration (staining?) on the back cover. Edges and seams are excellent.
Record: VG++: (visual grade) maybe 5 spindle marks on either side (very light, hard to tell), very few light hairlines, a little wear on the outer rim (away from the grooves). Really looks great.

Grading standards:

All items are visually graded, and if they've been play graded that will be noted. I follow Goldmine grading standards. My grading is conservative, at least as good as I would expect from anyone that I would buy from.

Within the USA: I ship via the US Postal Service, priority and media mail. Costs are based on the shipping weight and package size. Please contact me for shipping to other locations. As always, if your winning bid is above $50, I will pay for insurance within the USA.

Outside of the USA: I'm willing to ship outside of the USA, cost based on the winner's address and size and weight of the package. I usually insist on airmail for reasonable delivery time and better handling. I state the shipping size and weight in the ad so that you'll have an idea of cost, though final determination of shipping cost will occur when the auction completes. Unfortunately I can't offer free insurance as it often gets quite expensive for overseas shipment, however, I strongly advise that you select insurance as I cannot be responsible for delivery in another country.
