INNER SANCTUM, TWO COMPLETE SHOWS!
You are bidding on a lot of four discs/two complete network episodes of 'Inner Sanctum'. These discs are in VG+ to EX condition and contain no major blemishes on the lacquer.
Inner Sanctum Mysteries was a highly popular American radio anthology series that specialized in mystery, terror, and suspense stories. It aired from 1941 to 1952.
Key Elements:
-
The Creaking Door: The show's most famous signature element was its opening and closing sound effect: an eerie, nerve-wracking squeak of a slowly opening door, accompanied by a dissonant organ chord.
-
The Host: The programs were hosted by a slightly sinister, yet playfully morbid character, originally Raymond Edward Johnson (and later Paul McGrath). The host set the mood with a droll sense of humor and a stream of ghoulish puns, often ending the show with his signature, elongated sign-off: "Good night... Pleasant dreeeeammmms?"
-
The Stories: Each weekly episode was a half-hour self-contained "fright fest" focusing on tales of murder, madness, psychological thrillers, and sometimes the supernatural. The stories often mixed genuine horror with a touch of dark humor.
-
Production: Created by Himan Brown, the show was a New York production and featured both veteran radio actors and occasional Hollywood guest stars like Boris Karloff and Peter Lorre.
These discs are being sold 'as-is' and cannot be returned under ANY circumstance due to ease of digital duplication.
