Records have been kept in plastic cover protectors since new.
I have described the condition as best I can but please remember it is a matter of personal opinion. Please note that I look after my records and won't sell any that are scratched unless clearly stated.  I refer to the following ratings to asses the condition:-

VINYL

  • EXCELLENT - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. 
  • VERY GOOD - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratches and crackling.
  • GOOD -  The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches/pops.
COVER
  • EXCELLENT - Cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
  • VERY GOOD - Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
  • GOOD - Cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc. May have writing on it.


Note that I always obtain proof of posting and if the item doesn't turn up, the Post Office require a wait of 15 days before they start to trace it.
