Released in 1976 on the POLYDOR label, I am offering today this original rare UK white label loud cut test pressing of this second studio album from Ritchie Blackmore's RAINBOW which is titled "RISING". The album is packed with great tracks including TAROT WOMAN, A LIGHT IN THE BLACK, STARGAZER etc. The vinyl is in very good condition and plays through well with no sticks or skips etc. These white labels play much better than the regular stock copies with much richer audio.
The album comes with its original MacNeill gatefold sleeve which has been dedicated and signed by drummer Cozy Powell which states " Pete in case you were wondering I'm the handsome feller 2nd from the left Enjoy it Cozy" This is in very good condition showing some light edge wear.
This comes complete with its original blue text poly lined inner which shows browning from age.
TEST PRESSINGS, AS SOME MIGHT NOT KNOW, WERE MADE TO TRY OUT THE STAMPERS OF RECORDS AT THE PRESSING PLANT PRIOR TO FULL PRODUCTION AND WERE MADE IN VERY SMALL QUANTITY, USUALLY 10 OR MUCH LESS. THESE WOULD THEN BE HANDED TO THE BAND,THEIR AGENT,THE PRODUCER OF THE RECORD ETC TO TEST PLAY THE VINYL DISCS FOR QUALITY CONTROL PURPOSES. OCCASIONALLY THEY WOULD FIND THAT THE MIX OF A PARTICULAR TRACK WAS OUT, OR THE THEY WERE UNHAPPY WITH THE TRACK LISTING, AND THEN NEW PRESSINGS WOULD HAVE TO BE MADE UNTIL EVERYONE WAS SATISFIED WITH THE OUTCOME.
I have just played this through for these listing purposes and the album plays well with excellent audio with absolutely no sticks or skips etc.
I try to be accurate in my grading as I know what its like to buy miss graded items but won't insult you by writing song lyrics etc. If you feel I have not described this correctly I am happy to refund you providing I receive the item back in the same condition as it leaves me.
THIS RECORD WAS PLAY TESTED ON A LINN THROUGH A MUSIC FIDELITY AMP
