Description

This rare 16-track album (Transition trlp-M-1) was recorded 3-19-56 in New York.  Singer Lovelady (Lovey) Powell and pianist Brooks Morton replicate, in the studio, their performance "upstairs at the Duplex" a Greenwich Village nightspot.  The cabaret style music is from the American Songbook and presented in a casual mood.  The vinyl is clean, glossy, and free of scratches or marks.  Audibly, there is some occasional surface noise which is not related to the visual aspects of the record, but rather to the quality of the vinyl used in this mid-50's pressing.  The album cover is in great shape with nice corners and a glossy finish.  The 6-page 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" liner notes booklet is in Mint condition with sharp corners and no markings of any kind.  All in all, a nice hard-to-find album for fans of cabaret style music.  This item is from a smoke-free, pet-free environment.
