We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable.  We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over +22,000 positive feedback.   We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. • Following a terrific 1968 "Birthday Party" first LP, the second 1969 Idle Race LP was issued in November 1969 shortly before leader Jeff Lynne's departure to 'Electric Light Orchestra' teaming up with the MOVE's Roy Wood. The album may have lacked the lavish gatefold packing of British version first LP ("The Birthday Party") yet was equally if not more impressive in content, resplendence in a genius led creative portrait.

• The 2nd "Idle Race" was their first album to bear credits "Produced by Jeff Lynne," who according to band-mate Roger Spencer basically bluffed his way through the whole process! As it turned out, the self titled Lp shows a maturity well beyond the experience shared by the constituent members. The album is well paced and hangs together perfectly, lyrically and aurally superior to the first, featuring marvelous, melodic arrangements  even Lennon/McCartney were proud of! The fab-four were filled, yet Jeff Lynne would have fit right in

  Perhaps more Beatlesque than the Birthday Party LP, you can hear elements of "Here There and Everywhere" and "She Said, She Said" (from Revolver) in the closing pair of "A Better Life" and "Hurry Up John". Other tracks, however, were totally original in their concepts, such as "Mr. Crow and Sir Norman" (an extension of their ideas from the first album) and the delightful "Big Chief Woolley Bosher"

  In one sense this LP could have been seen as a regressive step as at the time many of their musical contemporaries were venturing into experimental music born out of heavy blues. The Idle Race instead, offered a set of popsike gems and in which ballads such as "The Girl at the Window", "Please No More Sad Songs", and "Sea Of The Dreams" were more reminiscent of mid period Beatles, ala 
• Rubber Soul and Revolver.

  A "must own" artifact from the swingin' 60's London  psych-pop scene.
