PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. RARE... Original 1971 first pressing of a strong complex progressive hardrock Lp by a hippie band called "MIDNIGHT SUN" ...
Includes the scarce original black "Kapp Records" inner sleeve
MIDNIGHT SUN have the pure unadulterated '70s hippie-stoner-jam rock sound, and the singer doesn't have a trace of an accent (sounds American). Their sound is a cross between the early Allman Brothers meeting Grateful Dead and Traffic. These guys are superb musicians and the arrangements are quite progressive despite the absence of all of the other prog-rock elements.....of course there is the Roger Dean album cover. Every cut on this record is pretty solid but the absolute highlight is the 14 minute scorcher "Living on a Hillside" which features awesome guitar work and killer percussion. Through both sides you'll find excellent refined changing tempo progressive-rock with complex rhythms and expanded chords. The music was composed mainly by Bronsted and Hasselmann and the zen-buddhist lyrics were written by Andy Levin and Bisgaard.
The album and band has an interesting history. In 1970, when the record was about to appear in shops, Lars Bisgaard left the group. He was replaced by Allan Mortensen (ex-'Tears'). The musicians made the decision to re-record the album. Some tracks were re-mastered with new vocal, some were re-recorded, two tracks; "Nobody" and "B.M." (were recorded on the original album as one composition) and were split into two. The then new composition was "Sippin’ Wine," written by Mortensen, which can only be found on this album. Both albums appeared with the same cover design – a beautiful painting by Anne Marie Brauges. The whole Midnight Sun album has a feeling more like late 60s early 70s progressive rock, while still retaining a hard prog rock sound as well.

CONDITION: The Cover: Solid and colorful as it was when first issued some 42 years ago, and in "EX" (exellent) condition ... there is a small "Kapp" sticker on back cover as well as a old white sticker at top left cover. There are no bends,no writing and no split seams.
The Vinyl: all clean and clear, M- looks and plays top level and has clean "Kapp" labels
