Never released in the USA and only released in England, Germany, France & Japan, all with different cover designs -- it's a fact that the 1974 French Barclay label original is the *best* of these releases with its cool laminated gatefold cover depicting Jimi in angel wings --then the inside of the gatefold has a great picture of Hendrix playing a flying vee guitar ... The album was put together from lost studio rarities by Hendrix manager Mike Jeffries and famed producer Eddie Kramer. Among others, the album is highlighted by "The Stars That Play with Laughing Sam's Dice", read the capital letters to see how Jimi loved to play with our minds. In the day record companies didn't want artists to mention drugs in songs, so Jimi laid it between the lines... The album is made up mostly of outtakes and loose jams with one authorized track that came out in Jimi's lifetime...another outstanding track is "Drifter's Escape" with the alternate mix from the one on the Jimi Hendrix Experience box set --here, it's a tighter mix, and the fuzz guitar part at the end is just striking in the way it comes to an abrupt end. end (much like Jimi's too short life), and on the box set it gets marred by Billy Cox's bass.

CONDITION: The laminated gatefold cover is solid and clean, "EX" (excellent) no problems
