Description
RARE NEAR-MINT 12" of Queen Yahna's 1976 club hit, Ain't It Time, Beautiful. Big NYC sound with violins, choir, a killer band and of course Queen Yahna's Gospel-tinged vocal. The phenomenon, at least in the Chicago clubs that played this, was the instrumental side was featured much more often. The band sounds a bit like BT Express without the horns and the song features a long (45 sec) drum, conga, and bell rhythmic break in the middle. Great propulsive beat with a very good drummer and accompanying rhythm guitars. Gorgeous slow fade-out of violins, guitars and choir.
The label says it's a 45 but it's a 33 and the song times out at just under 4 minutes rather than the 5:00 listed on the label.
