Description

Extremely RARE 12" RCA Victor Company 2- sided picture disc featuring a huge Art Deco style cartoon of bandleader and music composer Paul Whiteman , known as the King of Jazz .with baton in hand conducting a large orchestra rendered in a stylized pattern to his right. The other side depicts 2 abstract patterns of New York city streets in tan, and 2 dancing couples, one slow-dancing, the other in either a jitterbug or Latin style dance in blue. A banner around the back  expands on the title of the LP printed at the bottom of the front. Beneath the titles are a detailed list of song titles and performers that either appear at the Biltmore, or are sampled on the record. As I have no Victrola, I am unable to play it. From the clothing of the dancers, it appears the record dates from the 1920s or 1930s. There is not date printed on the record. It is rare enough to find a wonderful art deco period musical treasure like this, but nearly impossible in such excellent overall condition.
