Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us.  Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable.  We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback.   We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support.   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING:   USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire.   All Canadian and Overseas shipping ~ Please inquire about rates. 1. You're going to be hard pressed to come up with a garage band LP much more obscure than this early-1960s release.

Right away overview the main-man at BadCat (check their gear of the 'net) who says:

Obviously there isn't a great deal of information floating around on this quintet from a Philadelphia prep school known as "Los Perdidos" (The Lost Ones.)

Produced by Edward J. Gately and recorded in three days, 1963's "Los Perdidios" found the band opting for a strange set of pop, soul, surf, and MOR hits.  Even though they had a lead singer in Jim Blunt, the complexities of recording a human voice were apparently too much for their limited recording resources, so they opted for an all instrumental set (though there are a couple of la la la choruses scattered throughout the set).  From a technical standpoint the album is pretty raw and unadorned.  I'm not sure where the album was recorded, but given the sound it could well have been the school's shower area (crude and primitive.)  Just to warn you, don't slap this baby on expecting to hear cutting edge production values.  The 14 performances are similarly raw with blown notes all over the place - which more often than not really "makes it" with collectors of the genre. .  On a couple of songs like 'Wild Weekend' you're left to ponder whether the guys were actually playing the same song ...  There's also one original - LaForce's oddly titled
'Race Riot' - named after heavy alcohol consumption.  Still, there's something charming about this slab of low-fi garage mayhem.  In spite of their significant musical limitations (drummer Dyer seems to have mastered one basic rhythm pattern jamming rocket speed fills into every nook and cranny), they displayed more energy and enthusiasm than a club full of progressive outfits.  Certainly not for everyone, but anyone comfortable with the Justice Records catalog will probably immediately identify with these guys.
