RARE 7” Brazilian LP – Fado De Quissama / RJ 19th century Folklore 1985

 

This 6-inch record LP was purchased in Rio de Janeiro from a cultural museum for my master’s thesis in 19th century Brazilian Music. I didn’t end up needing it and it’s in mint condition still in its plastic sleeve and cardboard case. This is great for any ethno-musicologist or world music lover. Be sure to check out the other 7-inch albums I have listed. Each of these albums were issued by the Ministry of Education and Culture.

 

Brazilian LP – Fado De Quissama / RJ (Rio de Janiero) – Documentario sonoro do folclore Brasileiro No 42. This folkloric music encompasses various genres from the people of Brazil during the XIX century (mid 1800’s). The type of dance and music featured in this album were performed as early as 1853 in Mauuel Antonio de Almedia’s Memorias de um Sargento de Milicias. The album cover in black and white and features two older men playing the guitar and tambourine while singing.
