Description

A real fave Soul 45 here by Bobby Strickland. Obscure artist and label (Brother Love Records, no #), but a quality record on both sides. Probably from the early 70s, as the label says "stereo". Sparse but effective arrangement, with "stabbing" horns, solid drummer, and a good solo vocal from the singer. Excellent Deep side, "The Girl That I Love", and fine up tempo dancer on the flip, "After All I'm Still In Love With You". I'm just guessing it's of Southern origin, given the sparseness of information, but the whole proceeding owe a debt to Otis Redding and the Stax sound. NM+ copy.
