. Elder J.J. Hadley " Prayer Of Death Part 1 /...Part 2 " Paramount #12799 78 RPM ca. 1920s. Rare and hard to find. Books for up to $600.00 in the guides. NOTE: Someone emailed me and said that this artist may also be known as Charlie Patton . Not sure. This one is fair. Many scratches and scuffs on both sides. Some can be felt. There are also two very light cracks at the beginning of play (shows on both sides) but they are light and no worse than a scratch that can be felt. Doesn't affect the play much. (No worse than other scratches). No skips or hesitations. One tiny gouge but it doesn't seem to affect the play much if at all. Maybe a "tick" or two. Smudges, scuffs, etc. A bit dull. Both sides play with a LOT of noise and crackling and popping, etc His voice and guitar come through OK but it is hard to make out what he is saying (the words). With the right equipment, you may be able to remove much of the noise. It plays better when the tone is turned to the bass side as opposed to the treble. I seems to mute some of the background "crackling" and popping. Both labels have scratches and heavy wear around the spindle holes and letters or words are scratched into the labels.Everything is readable though. This record is rare and hard to find and is being sold AS IS. I only charge actual shipping. No handling. Buyer pays Priority shipping to be determined by your ZIP. NOTE: Priority ONLY on 78s..
