RARE 78 RPM Jimmie Rodgers Picture Record Disc 1933

When I came across this old record at a local Estate Sale I thought it might be special.  I am not an expert in this field, in fact, I know next to nothing about old records.  But, when I saw this one, it practically leapt into my hands.  I stood there, marveling at it and wondering how I got so lucky as to get to it first.  As I said, I thought it might be special, but I had no idea as to how special it was until I got it home and started doing a little research.   Wow....what a great find.  The only other one that I have found so far very recently sold on eBay for $1000. 

I almost NEVER use the word rare, but this time it is definately an appropriate term.  Jimmie Rodgers recorded this record in 1933.  The front side is "Cowhands Last Ride".  It has a black and white picture of Jimmie Rodgers, in straw hat and bow tie, sitting with his guitar.  Along with the title are the words "Sung and Played by Jimmie Rodgers A 18 - 6000", then the RCA emblem with "His Masters Voice" and the dog sitting in front of the phonograph.  Above that is Jimmie Rodgers signature.  Side B has discs around the outside titled Blue Yodel Nos. 1 through 11, with "Blue Yodel No. 12" in the center.

I have no idea how records are graded, so I will decribe the condition to the very best of my ability and try to provide pictures that illustrate it as it is.  I take dozens of pictures in order to get the ones I use to show an item as it actually is.  Please take the time to review them all.  My goal in my auctions is to give you a 100% accurate view of what you are bidding on.

On side "B" there are two flakes on the outside edge.  One at about the 2 o'clock position, the other at about the 7 o'clock position.   The top one goes just to the edge of the recording.  The lower one does not touch the grooves.  I have shown a close up of each of these areas.  There are what I would consider long crazing lines on both sides.  The lines on the front do not match up with the lines on the back.  None of these lines extend to the edge. I believe that the pictures I have provided also illustrate these lines well.  The pictures actually amplify the fact that this record is somewhat dirty.  I have made absolutely no attempt to clean it, and will not, as I do not know the proper way to do this.
