Description
This album is a 1965 first pressing Stereo A-77 ultra-thick vinyl release of A Love Supreme by John Coltrane on Impulse Records. The red Impulse! LP labels are in Excellent condition with "A Product of ABC Paramount Records" and "Printed in USA" in small white print under the track listing. VAN GELDER and STEREO are etched in the LP dead wax area that surrounds the label. The LP plays in VG condition while visually the LP disc has many superficial scratches and sleeve scuffs that create a consistent background static and occasional minor pops that are only audible in the quieter parts of the album especially in the beginning. Overall the sound is strong, listening is enjoyable, and the static does not overwhelm. The LP disc maintains a gleaming dark black surface. The album cover is not laminated. It has heavy ring wear on both sides, blunt corners, and 5" split upper and lower seams on the second flap of the gatefold cover but there is no writing. The spine contains the title and the artist with wear on the top and bottom corners. The liner notes in the middle of the gatefold are in Excellent condition with no writing as well.
