Description

Up for auction is an incredibly rare, historically significant piece of vinyl history: Lew White at the Organ and His Orchestra – Melodic Magic Vol. 1 7" EP (45 RPM).

Released in 1953 on RCA's budget subsidiary Camden Records, this release features the legendary, uncredited early commercial cover artwork of Andy Warhol. Utilizing his iconic early 1950s "blotted-line" ink technique, Warhol beautifully illustrated the stars and fireworks on the jacket sleeve.

This specific record cover was a "lost" masterpiece, only recently discovered and authenticated by Warhol scholars within the last decade. It has since been featured in prominent museum exhibitions (such as Warhol on Vinyl). This is an absolute must-have "holy grail" item for both serious Andy Warhol art collectors and rare vinyl enthusiasts alike.
